My 92 yr. old mother has some bowel problems. She has black stool and passes gas that it very foul smelling. She did pass blood in her stool for one day, but none today. At this time she is quite hesitant in going to the EMG Room - even after several suggestions on my part to do so. Is there anything specific which could cause this type of situation? She has low red blood cell count which she gets an injection for every 6-7 weeks; and has had an iron infusion in the past week. Thanks for your attention to this concern.
