What Causes Black Spots On Roof Of Mouth?

I just noticed a dark blue/black spot on the roof of my mouth. I had 1 dental implant procedure almost 6 months ago and my gums do not seem to be accepting the implant very well (irritation, strong metal taste in mouth, some bleeding). Could this be related, or otherwise? Thanks.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of black spots on roof of mouth which is mainly because of improper oral hygiene and continued irritation of oral mucosa with dental implant. Need not to panic about it. I would advise you to take vitamin C. in diet properly. You should drink orange juice daily. Sip green or herbal tea after meals to soothe effects of sores in mouth. Don't take aerated drinks till the time ulcers don't heal completely. Visit dentist once and get it examined if symptoms keeps on persisting. Apply Dologel on these sores. Maintain hygiene of oral cavity to prevent bacterial growth. Keep using antimicrobial mouth wash.. Gargle your mouth alternatively with hot and cold water. Drink tomato juice or eat raw tomatoes.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get well Soon.

Best Wishes,
