What Causes Black Eye While Having Sty By The Tear Duct?

I ve had a sty on my eye by my tear duct, and it was red and swollen, but now I have a full blown black eye. People are saying that a sty does not cause a black eye, I haven t been in a fight or have been hit in any way, so I don t know why I have a black eye.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The sty does not cause black eye. There can be super added bacterial infection or other conditions of conjunctivitis or sclera which can present in this method. An immediate consulting with his treating ophthalmologist is best recommended to prevent further damage to eye.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
