Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Malik's Response
Hello,
Black colored vomit and stool are highly indicative of upper gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding (either from esophagus or stomach). The most common cause is peptic ulcer diseases. When the blood from upper GI gets mixed with stomach content gets oxidized and turns into black color. It is a serious medical condition, and you should immediately seek medical help. Please, go to the emergency room to get a medical evaluation. Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Malik
