What Causes Bad Taste In Throat While Swallowing?

I have been getting a bad taste in my throat when I swallow for the last few months. It just came out of nowhere. I can only taste it when I swallow. I have been treated for oral thrush but that didn t solve it. I haven t had any other symptoms and am fit and healthy (currently training for a half marathon) but my doctor is a bit stumped as to what it could be. Can you suggest anything?

Hello and thanks for writing.

I can understand your problem and would try to help you in the best way possible.
Bad taste in throat can be due to many factors like a phayngeal pouch, and tooth infection or Gastroesophageal Reflux. You may need some tests for pin pointing the diagnosis like a Barium Swallow study and blood works. I suggest you see a physician and a dentist for further evaluation.
