What Causes Back Pain?

Hi. My back has been hurting for the fast few days. I figured it was the position I had been sleeping in or the fact that it is time for me to get a new more comfortable bed. But today I went to a party and ran around and played and jumped in the bouncy house and now my back is hurting VERY badly...to the point that I m crying because it hurts so bad. Could I have pulled a muscle or something.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation you are going through.

1. Hurting back might be due to pulled (torn) muscle.
2. Another possible cause might be due to damages to the spinal cord
3. X-ray of the back is recommended to understand what's going on at this part.
4. For the moment, I advise to:
- avoid quick movements of your body
- apply warm compresses locally
- apply analgesic cream locally
- take oral pain killers

Hope it was of help!
