General Surgeon 's  Response

Most likely possibility of pain over back with urinary changes as mentioned is due to underlying urinary tract infection.

My guidelines at present

- more liquids to be taken as you can
- avoid excess sun exposure or conditions with perspiration
- avoid anxiety
- no intercourse if sexually active
- citrus fruits with vitamin c content
- antibiotic intake as per the guidelines of your primary care provider.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have been having very extreme back pain as well as internal discomfort since before Christmas, my ultrasound came back that my liver is enlarged to 17.3cm and that I show mild pelviectasis on both kidneys, however my pelvic exam showed uterus endometriums and serveral fibroids measuring up to 1.7cm as well as a left ovarian follicle measuring 1.5cm and free fluid in the cul de sac. My doctor has told me that the pelvic exam will be forwarded to a gynie but suggested that everything was OK with the kidney diagnosis. Should I be at all concerned over the pelviectasis or could it just be a side effect from the pelvic issues?

My back started to hurt about 3 weeks ago. Pain is located between scapulas, around my backbone. Pain is not consistent, I can feel it when I lower my shoulders down. It feels like something is pressing my backbone from sides. I also experienced some left chest pain about three weeks ago, it lasted about 2-3 weeks (I relate it with smoking). I tried some not prescription ointments for my back, but it doesn t seem to help. What could be the cause of that back pain?
