What Causes Auditory Hallucinations?

Lately ive been catching myself talking to myself. 100% of the time its like I hear someone holding a conversation with me... so I talk back to the Person It isn t until after a couple of minutes of holding a conversation that I notice that there is no one there. it could be my boyfriend voice I hear or anybody I would just hold a conversation. At first I paid no attention to it... until it became worse. Now I will catch myself joking and everything with this person. am I going crazy or what?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Voices in the head occur to all and talking to ourselves too. It can be physiological but it can turn pathological once it exceeds. What is your age? Are you undergoing any depressive phase of life? Since how long you are having this issue? have you had "Imaginary friends" when you are young? If yes you need to consult with a Psychiatrist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Melita Wesley,
