Hi. My father had an Xray examination, His chest is clear and no enlarging of heart but there is this what you called Atheromatous Aorta. What do you think about this term and is this dangerous and how can we treat this? Is there natural remedy for this to lessen a certain cause of it?

Hi,

Athermatous aorta refers to narrowing of the aorta that carries blood from heart to the body. The aorta is very important for blood flow from heart to the body. so any problem in flow is likely to have deleterious effects on organs like brain, kidney, limbs, etc.. This atheroma is formed due to accumulation of lipids, calcium, cholesterol and fats along the walls of blood vessels including aorta.

This condition needs to be taken care of as it can cause stroke, kidney dysfunction, chest pain and heart diseases. However, this can be treated by medications and surgery using stents. This condition can be further controlled by diet modifications like: Taking fiber based diet. using unsaturated oil omega 3 in the diet. less oily diet. light exercises daily controlling intake of fast foods.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
