What Causes Arm And Hand Numbness While Lying Down?

My R arm and hand keep going to sleep every time I lay down. I even have propped myself up with pillows and it still goes painfully numb. I have had shoulder problems for years. I can feel the numbness start in between my ring and middle finger. I put a throw pillow under my arm pit last night and laid in a recliner, that seemed the only way I could sleep. What nerve do you think is being pinched? Is an ortho MD going to be able to help me or do I need to see a neurologist?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, the given symptoms could be indicative of cervical spine degenerative disease and it has to be examined by orthopedic surgeon there it may requires MRI later on neurological opinion can be taken, hope this information helps.
