What Causes Anxiety, Headache And Heart Palpitations?

I am a 25 y/o overweight female, mother of 2. I have been told I have anxiety, and was prescribed Paxil, which I will not take. I have had 2 EKGs and nothing seems abnormal. This "anxiety" is so bad that when I get a minor headache, I think I have something seriously wrong with me. I am always worried to do anything! is there anything you suggest for this? Also, lately I can feel my heart beating very very fast, usually at night time after I carry my children up the steps to bed.. I assumed it was just me being out of shape, but it beats so hard, and I'm not that out of breath so it puzzles me.

Hi,

Anxiety disorder is not related to your being out of shape. ECG can only detect rapid heart beating during the episode. Otherwise, ECG is usually normal.

The treatment consists mainly of psychological therapy (mainly cognitive-behavioural therapy) and medication therapy with antidepressants (mostly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors-SSRI).

Paxil (Paroxetine) an antidepressant medication from SSRI group was prescribed to you for the treatment of anxiety. You should continue taking Paxil as prescribed by your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
