What Causes Anxiety After A Bypass Surgery?

My mother is 66yr old, and just had triple bypass surgery 5 days ago and we thought she was doing well. Now she is having really bad anxiety attacks when she wakes up from her naps and doesn't remember anything and she keeps thinking she is dying. How do we all deal with this, because it hurts to see our mother in so much pain.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. I suggest you not to worry much. Anxiety attacks after bypass surgery occurs due to two reasons. One being the scare and stress associated with the procedure. The patients are always anxious before, during and after. Such an anxiety shall be cured after some time when they accustomed to the situation. Second being side effects from the prescribed medicines. Do consult the doctors for that possibility.

If you require more of my help in this aspect, Please post a direct question to me in this website. Make sure that you include every minute details possible. I shall prescribe the needed psychotherapy techniques which should help you cure your condition further.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
