since 2012, my left ankle will swell for no reason, It will look bruised and cause much pain. however catscans, ultrasounds, mri s and even exrays show nothing wrong. I was told that it not cause from diabetes or stress, blood tests all come back negative for anything. I can not put weight on it, or move around when swollen. I can walk perfectly fine for weeks at a time, and then go to the bathroom at home and it will be swollen. I have never broken, sprained, or fractured that ankle in anyway. I am 38 years old and now can barely move some days because of the swelling/pain. I can not ice it even when swelled because the slightest touch or weight sends sharp shooting pain throughout my whole foot.can not wear socks below the calf or my foot will swell, I have tried soaking my foot in water, I can not wear tennis shoes or anything that touches the ankle(rubs against) or it swells. can anyone give me some ideas on what this might be and how I can deal with it. the last doctor I had said, your ankle ain t normal, but I can see the pain so I am giving you trama-dol for that. these are the kinds of answers I always get.
