What Causes An Unilateral Forehead?

My 11 week old baby forehead is higher on the right than the left. if you look at her from her chin up it looks like its on an angle. She has no flat spots and the back of head is rounded its just the forehead and top of her head that looks like its on an angle. She also tilts her head to the right all the time, whether she is sleeping, awake, being carried, floor time etc. she can look to her left but doesnt often do it only when we make her.

THanks for your query

What kind of birth did the child have, was it a difficult delivery, were forceps or suction used ? this is important to know as tehre is sometimes a small issue with the sternomastoid muscle ( muscle of the neck) whcih can cause the baby to keep tilting the head to one side. THis will result in shortening of the neck muscles on one side. the child may allow passive stretching and look to the affected side ( left) when your make her but naturally she willavoid looking at that side

It would be best to see a doctor about this, a ultrasound scan will confirm. The treatment at this point will be passive gentle stretching like you are able to do.

The forehead being more prominent may be related or not. The doctor will have to see the 'fontanelle' the space between the skull bones and also measure the head circumference to ensure there are no underlying issues.
