i have a rash that just appeared. I have not changed detergent, shampoo, soap, etc..... Looking a bit like scarlatina (sp) or 5th disease but there has been no fever. Itches unbelievably and is mostly waist up to include arms and hands. Treating with Diphenhydramine HCI, Antihistamine and cortisone cream but isn t relieving much. Any other suggestions oj what coul dbe or how I should treat
Itchy rashes can be due to contact dermatitis, avoid wearing tight clothes. Wear cotton clothes. It can be due to fungal infection due to constant friction with clothes & humidity. Allergy (if you are wearing accessory) or Psoriasis can be other factors.
Take oral antihistamines & a course of antifungals for relieve. Do not share your toiletries. Maintain hygiene. Apply herbal moisturizers after a shower.
Visit a dermatologist, get physically examined to rule out scabies or psoriasis. Get treated at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
