What Causes An Itchy Rash On The Wrist?

Yes, thank you. I developed a rash on my inside wrist that is very itchy. As well, I have a few of these things, almost like a bite, but with some slight swelling behind both ears and going down my neck just a little. I do have allergies and I think that is the problem but my husband suggested shingles. I don t have any pain, am not tired, no fever, just itchiness. Do you think this could be shingles?

Hi,

As per your query you have symptoms of itchy rash on the wrist which can occur due to environment factors, bodies response to the trigger factor and could be due to viral infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to give cold compresses to these rashes several times a day to prevent from swelling and itching and take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. If symptoms still persist the consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment. Doctor may perform skin test and challenge to find out the trigger factor. Doctor may prescribe other steroid cream (mometasone), and anti inflammatory medications. Stay in cool environment.
