What Causes An Itchy Rash On The Ankle While On Lisinopril?

I take Lisinopril, have taken it for several years. Have not changed anything in my drugs etc. but developed a rash around my left ankle (looked like and felt like poison oak) and on top of my right foot. Didn t see a dr (I have gotten poison oak and it progresses fast on me) so I used the Lidex that I have on hand for it. It did help some but the redness around the ankle hasn t left and I continue to itch - mildly; however, I have itch on and off all over (upper arms, back, legs, buttock, etc). Could I have developed this itching because of the Lisinopril?

Lisinopril is known to rarely cause a skin rash and itching, but in the hundreds of patients I have prescribed it to, I have never seen it, and I doubt it would be the cause in your case. Lidex is a fairly strong steroid medication, so if it is not resolving with that, I would worry about something else going on, perhaps a fungal infection, though it's hard to say without seeing it. I would suggest seeing a doctor try to get the right diagnosis and get started on the right treatment.
