What Causes An Itchy Lump On The Neck With Swollen Lymph Nodes?

I have a 19 month old with a scab like bump rash that itches. located in nape of neck, in the center. he also has a swollen lymph gland to the right of it. no other symtoms presenting. pediatrician says eczema, and said use hydrocortisone 2x daily. i first noticed the scab with swollen gland about 4 months ago. doc says its normal and could take a while for gland to return to normal size. i am starting to be concerned because their is no improvement. is this a common condition in toddlers?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Eczema is a common problem in infants.
The eczema clears away as the infant grows older.
Enlarged lymph node is common close to the eczematous patch.
This is because constant itching in the eczematous patch leads to reactive change in the draining lymph node.
The lymph node will start regressing as the itching in the eczematous patch will be controlled or the condition will be treated.

Thanks and take care
