What Causes Amniotic Constriction Bands At 14th Week Of Pregnancy?
I was told at my 14 week ultrasound that I had what looked like an amniotic band. I am not scheduled for another ultrasound for 6 weeks...should I be requesting another ultrasound before then to keep an eye on it? Is it often misdiagnosed or something that resolves itself on its own? How common is actual ABS? Thanks!

Hi,
You can wait till 20 weeks for next scan, as by then the appearance will be more obvious.
Amniotic bands are not common- during last 6 years, I have seen only two cases. when present, they can cause ring like constrictions over limbs. Although not life threatening, they can cause disfigurement. Anyhow, lets wait till next scan.
