What Causes Amenorrhea After Stopping Birth Control Pills?

Hi there, I was on birth control for just under ten years. I stopped taking it around Christmas time this past year. I got my period on December 30 and have not had one since. I have taken pregnancy tests and they are negative. Is it this normal for my cycle take so much time getting back to normal?

Hi I think you should consult a gynecologist for complete examination. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries to find out the cause of absence of periods. Also get a FSH level done to see if you are going to attain menopause. It can also be the reason. Hope it helps.
