What Causes Acute Scrotum Pain?

Hi ....... i'm been having shooting pain in my left ball it comes and goes its really sharp and last a few minutes but leaves me in severe pain for those minutes i had to go see the dr but thats going to be a couple months if anyone could give me any idea what it could be that would be of great help thanks alot
