What Causes Acne On The Face And Neck?

I m a 26yo female and never had a issue with acne not even as a teenager. I ve had random places on my face before but the past 2 or 3 years I ve been getting bumps in my side burn areas and also growing a couple to a few random wild hairs in the same general area but never within the core of the sores. I m not starting to get them on my neck under my jaw area kind of close to my ears. I don t think it s acne and I ve questioned whether it s follicular is. As soon as they go away, they come right back. I m not worried just getting aggravated bc nothing I seem to do makes them go away indefinitely. I m a very busy single mom of a 6yo boy so it s hard for me to make a dermatologist appointment a priority but it s getting close. Also, because I have had a child, I ve questioned whether it could possibly be hormones. I m getting pretty desperate to put this to an end because they re bothersome, not painful or itchy, I don t even know how to describe how they feel I can just tell they re there. I m also not the best at not picking which I know would help if I could break that habit. If I can offer any more information please ask. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think this acne may also be related to hormones and ovaries.
Taking oral estroprogestative contraceptives may help you with hormone balance and disappearance of them.
Also, a topical antibiotic such gentamicin or orally such minocycline can heal faster.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
