What Causes Absence Of Periods?

Hey. I'm 14 and I got my first period when I was 12 almost 13. I never got it every month. After the first time it was in three weeks I got it again. Then after that it was a whole six months. The last time I was on my period was almost two months ago... Is this normal? Is there something wrong with me?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Usually after menarche (first periods) some may have irregular cycles from a few months to a couple of years. You need not worry about it. You can also have a pelvic scan done by your gynecologist. In it, there will be some hormonal imbalance which will get corrected on it's own after a few days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana Rajesh Babu, OB & GYN Specialist
