What Causes Absence Of Periods While On Birth Control Pills?

Hi, I just started taking the birth control pill two months ago, but before I started I was prescribed pills to start my period since I hadn't had one in over 4 months before hand. Since starting birth control I haven't had my period and I thought it was suppose to help regulate it.
