What Causes Abnormal Respiratory Rate In Infant?

hello doctor,
my nephew is a premature baby just 27 weeks old is in NICU .with a weight of 1.2kg.day before yesterday he was fed with mothers milk + lactogen.now he is having some problem with his intestine and has been shifted to ventilator due to abnormal respiratory rate.wat could be the cause.sir kindly tell the consequences.
