What Causes Abnormal Period Inspite Of Being On Birth Control?

I was a month late & this past thanksgiving I finally got it but light, the next Thursday it started to get heavy with bad cramping and still have my menstrual cycle. Is it because I had stopped taking my pills a week before my period was suppose to be set on 10/30 and my body is getting use to the birth control again?

You can have abnormal bleeding due to hormonal imbalance, stress & anxiety.
If you are getting irregular period repeatedly consult your doctor for examination & get investigated for thyroid profile, blood sugar & serum prolactin.
