What Causes Abnormal Diabetic Levels Despite Taking Medications?
My wife is on oral medication she is taking metformin twice a day 1000 gm, glymperide 4 mg before breakfast, and insulin glarizine in the night at 10 but then also the fasting glucose is above 300 in the morning, in evening it is between 200 to 220m pls advice. She is also taking medicine for hypertension ramipril 5 mf

In her drug list there still scope of two newer anti diabetic drug, pioglitazone and gliptans. Start these new drugs after consultation with her doctor. Also increase the dose of her insulin. Along with these, strict anti diabetic diet and exercise are needed. Get done repeat sugar levels after 1 month of all these. If her sugar levels are still uncontrolled then she needs surgical help in the form of gastrectomy to reduce sugar absorption.
