General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about your wife having had melanoma of left eye, got treated , ENT Surgeon was consulted for earache, seen capillaries in the same side of throat. Waiting for MRI.
Since there is history of melanoma, recurrence is known, hence your ENT Surgeon thought about it.
Capillaries on the same side can be due to simple infection, inflammation of any sort.
So wait for MRI report, please tell the Radiologist full past history so that a proper additional coverage of pharynx can be done.
The pain in the ear can be a referred one.
If there would have been any local problem in the ear your ENT Surgeon would have told you and treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
