What Causes Abdominal Pains At The Age Of 20?

I am 20 years old, and my doctor said that my GI dr will want an endoscopy and colonoscopy because my stomach pains have been unexplained by a CT scan, Abdominal US, and Pelvic all being normal. Is this normal? What if those tests come back normal too?

Hello! Welcome to HCM.
Yes, it is quite possible that scopies also give normal result.
Many such patients come to my clinic to whom I advise tests to rule out lactose intolerance, gluten sensitivity, coeliac disease, parasitic infestations & small intestinal bacterial overgrowth.
If all are negative then its irritable bowel syndrome, unlikely at your age.
Treatment is done accordingly.
Hope this information is useful to you.
Wish you healthy life.
Thanks.
Regards.
