What Causes Abdominal Pain, Weight Loss And Loose Stools?

Hello Doctor,
I have been suffering from stomach related problems for nearly 5 weeks which includes loose stools with food bits after eating, abdominal pain at various locations, fullness of stomach, stomach growling and feeling of incomplete evacuation, weight loss of 8kg. I had been to my primary physician and have had my blood and stool tests which came out negative. I have also had colonoscopy and the doctor said nothing to worry. I was prescribed Ornidazole and Buscopan by my family doctor suspecting some intestinal parasites. But, it didn't help much. I still have the same symptoms persisting. My TSH level is 5.8 and I am just wondering if that could be a reason for this. I am confused and stressed up as I have not been diagnosed so far.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
The causes of pain in abdomen, loose stools with food particles particularly after food, fullness, incomplete evacuation and growling stomach can be due to the following reasons.
Intestinal infection has been ruled out by stool and blood tests.
Colonoscopy has ruled out any pathology.
Hence the cause can be irritable bowel syndrome that is IBS.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Get an opinion of a Gastroenterologist.
Ask for CT scan of the whole abdomen and have other tests as needed.
If all the tests are negative this is most probably IBS and buscopan alone will not help, you will need additional medicines for treatment of stress and anxiety which are the basic causes.
Also note the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance the problems so that these can be stopped.
Change of lifestyle, vacation, only home-made foods helps further.
