What Causes Abdominal Pain And Sickness?

I arrived home from the ER about 3 hours ago. I was seen for abdominal pain and sickness. For the past month after a longboard accident , resulting in an infected wound on my knee, I haven t felt my normal active self In a month. The past 72 hrs I ve had extreme abdominal pain, mostly lower right side. They took a CT with the fluid going through me. The results were, I have an18mm ovarian cyst in my lower right abdomen, with a quite a bit of stool backed up. -Doctor He then told me to call a Obgyn doc Monday... Well I m still in excruciating pain, an with the research I ve done, I shouldn t be for that size of a cyst. I m very active and tough! My question is, since the doc gave me nothing, is there something else wrong? Is the stool causing my pain? Is it infectious? I shouldn t be hurting this bad according to the er doc..

Constipation can definitely cause abdominal pain. You could try picking up a laxative at your local pharmacy. The goal is to be having at least one, normal caliber bowel movement per day.

The cyst can also cause pain, but only if it ruptures or causes the ovary to twist on itself. If you were in an ER 3 hours ago, it is unlikely (it would be unlucked) that that happened since then.

Unless you have a fever, you probably don't have an infection.
