What Causes Abdominal Pain And Headache Post Typhoid?

Hi Dr, my 5 years old daughter was diagniosed with typhoid fever. She was admitted in the hosp for 6 days and was given antibiotics and IV drip. She felt better and was discharged 2weeks ago. She is at home resting but today she complaint about having a headache and stomach pain but no fever. Should I be worry? Do i need to bring her back to the hospital? Please advise what should I do. Thank you Dr.

I understood you query , I hope my answer will solve you query.

You told your 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with typhoid fever, was admitted for 6 days, given IV antibiotics.

She felt better and was discharged 2weeks ago.

Now she has headache and stomach pain without fever.

The headache and stomach pain may be due to hunger. Her appetite must have increased by now.

You can provide her some bland broth/ bread with milk. Provide bland or non spicy diet at short intervals.

You need to worry if she has persistent vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal distention. If after the consumption of food the symptoms are not resolved in 1 hour or so, then you must see your doctor.
