What Causes Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea After Gall Bladder Removal?
My husband is having abdominal pain - has had his appendix and gall bladder removed within last 2 years. Feels bloated, occasional diarrhea, some chest pressure - recently had ekg, results normal. Possibly brought on by eating, but no specific food triggers. Any suggestions for relief?

1. Digestive problem which can occur after gall bladder removal include:
. temporary/chronic diarrhea - difficulty digesting fatty foods - abdominal pain and since after cholecystectomy bile is no longer stored in gall bladder thus bile made by the liver is no longer be stored between the meals, instead it directly flows into the intestine [where it acts as a laxative] and also due to medications which impairs absorption of bile acids like: cholesytramine and/or aluminium hydroxide
2. To minimize such problem(s)
- Avoid fat [cholesterol] rich diet, dairy products to minimum - take a good digestive enzyme supplement and liver tonic [which helps digest fats and fat soluble vitamins] - Take a Vitamin D3 supplement - take bitter and sour food [lemons/limes] which makes it easier to digest good fats [coconut oil, virgin olive oil, avocados]
