Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of undergoing upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy today but have developed pain in abdomen and chest at sternum as well as at heart and left ribs area, can be gas? - You are constipated and is hard to pass feces and gas worried about tear or reaction to sedatives used:
As per the history you have provided, perforation should be ruled out and this is possible by the following:
X-ray of the abdomen in standing position and X-ray of the chest. To be certain, one may need Ct scans of the chest and abdomen.
First of all get an ECG to rule out any cardiac problem since you have pain at the sternum and at the left side.
Also needed is clinical evaluation and examination by a General Surgeon for knowing whether this is a complication of the endoscopies or just an anxiety related to.
If anxiety, needs a proper treatment to get a relief.
I think you should be under observation constantly.
May need exploration of the abdomen by surgery if there is a necessity or if the reports are in dilemma to know the exact cause and then get a proper management.
