What Causes Abdominal Pain After A Brain MRI Scan?

My daughter just had a brain MRI under general anesthesia this morning. she is now complaining of stomach pain (about 7 hours after she woke from being under). She says this is a pain that she has never experienced before. Could it be gas? She did receive the anesthetic through a mask and then they put an IV in her hand once she was asleep. Is this a normal side effect?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read the history.
Pain in abdomen is not observed anytime after general anesthesia or MRI.
This is not a known complication of either of the procedures.
I would advise the following:
Ask a general surgeon for clinical evaluation and investigations such as ultrasonography and so to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.
Your detailed history would have helped me more.
I find this answer helpful
