What Causes Abdominal Distention After A Laparotomy?

Hi. I had a laparotomy four years ago to have some large fibroids removed. I am 43 years old and I keep gaining weight in the abdominal area. I know that this is somewhat to be expected as we age and our metabolism slows down, but I am wondering to what extent the laparotomy may have contributed?

Hi, I think laparoscopy doesn't have a major effect on gaining weight in abdominal area. Maintain a healthy diet and do exercise regularly.
