What Causes Abdominal Discomfort And Diarrhea While On Linzess?

I have been taking Linzess 145mcg for 3 weeks for constipation. Amitiza after 4 years was not working. Having a lot of uncomfortable feeling in lower belly and stools are much like diahrea. Really did not have IBS but now I feel like I do because I m nearly constantly irritated. Would the lower dose be a better option for me. I weigh 99 and small frame, 65 years old. Take most medications in the lowest dosage always.

Hello,

Linaclotide is used to treat constipation in irritable bowel syndrome patients.

Also constipation due to an unknown cause.

The drug may have side effects of bloating and diarrhoea, pain abdomen.

You may stop and see the effects or consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take a high fibre diet, use Benefiber or Metamucil fibre for constipation.
