General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Occasional abdominal cramps could be experienced while on birth control pills as side effects. It would be experienced anytime, and not necessarily during intercourse.
Most of these effects are occasionally experienced and subsides on its own or with symptomatic treatment.
Protection offered against pregnancy by birth control pills is almost 99%, when taken regularly. Chances of its failure is more when you miss a pill or there is an irregular intake.
However, if you have doubts about being pregnant, first thing that should happen is you need to miss your periods. Since you still have 9 days left, kindly continue to take the pills and pregnancy seems to be unlikely.
In case of delay in periods, you can get your urine tested for pregnancy and further evaluated.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
