What Causes Abdominal Cramps And Vaginal Pain On Using Tampons?

I have used tampons for years. And suddenly, I m nearing the end of my period and I am in severe pain when inserting, abdominal cramps while it is in, and severe pain while taking it out. And it feels as if the tampon is being the cause of my continuous cramps all day. Once it is out, my abdomen and back suddenly feel a sense of relief. Should I be concerned? Or simply just stop using tampons altogether? Eckoe

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. It is common complaint in many women that they are getting pain while using tampons. It can be due to dryness of vagina. So in such case it is better to avoid. A consultation with a gynecologist and vaginal examination is well appreciated to rule out other problems as this occurs in case of infections or endometriosis also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
