What causes abdominal cramps and nausea?

The past several days I ve been having stomach cramps and nausea on and off with a lot of body aches. I figured it was a stomach bug, but I haven t had diarhea or vomiting. I haven t even had a loss of appetite. I have no sore throat or stuffy nose or anything. It s not constant all day except for mostly the body aches. I haven t had a stomach bug last this long or have these symptoms with no others. Any other ideas for this combination of symptoms with the lack of the usual accompanying symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Your symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection.

I suggest using an over the counter option to treat diarrhea such as Imodium.

I also recommend using daily probiotics.

I suggest to eat a plain diet and drink a lot of liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
