What Causes Abdominal Cramping?

Hi! I was diagnosed with PCOS almost 3 years ago.. Last July I went to my OB-gyn and she prescribed me with provera to be taken twice a day for 10 days together with metformin 500mg twice a day.. after a week from the last dose of provera i had my period. on the first day of my period, i started taking evening primrose oil 1300mg once a day and continously taking my metformin twice a day.. I had my regular menstruation for 3 months. That was august, september and october. But i haven't got my period for november.. I am almost 4 days delayed already.. Im having abdominal cramping every once in a while but other than that, I don't feel anything. Haven't checked with pregnancy test yet because I was thinking that this might be just related to stress because I was stressed during the first week of november.. what could this be?

Hi.
Thanks for your query and understanding the problems you have.
The abdominal cramping in your case can be due to such causes where a Gynecologist's opinion and an ultrasonography will help a lot in getting a proper diagnosis.
PCOS and changes in the ovaries can also cause this.
Other reasons can be related to the stress as you have rightly thought of , but other causes such as enteritis, appendicitis should also be ruled out.
