What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Nausea After Oophorectomy?
I had laparoscopic surgery Feb 26, 2015 to remove my ovaries and tubes due to a tumor on my left ovary. One of the incisions on the left side of my belly button seems to be infected. I have been very fatigued and my stomach feels so bloated since surgery. Today, the incision site felt hot and I had just nagging irritating pain. I pressed on it slightly and blood/pus oozed out. I would estimate it to be about a teaspoon full. I washed the area with soap and warm water. Its still seeping. Im not sure if I should go to the ER and have it checked or wait and see how it is in the morning. Again.. I have been extremely fatigued and honestly don t have much energy. I am diabetic and have been diagnosed with MRSA in the past.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. If there is pus discharge from the wound site and your abdomen feels bloated, then collection of pus in the abdomen post surgery is a high possibility. It also causes weakness, lethargy and fever. I would suggest you to consult your operating surgeon so that proper examination and investigations are done and further management should be done accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
