What Causes A Sudden Cough And Chest Pain After A Shower?
Hi, I just out the shower about 20 minutes ago and I started getting this heavy cough that started to hurt my chest then my nose got stuffed up and my chest doesn t feel normal to me. No matter how much I blow my nose I can t breat out of it at all. I don t know if I should go to the emergency room.
Nasal congestion can be due to the presence of mucus in the nostrils (which can be blown out) or it can be due to swelling of structures in the nose called turbinates. Swelling of the turbinates can occur due to infection or allergies. This is not relieved by blowing.
Since there is no change for you on blowing, this is the likely cause of the nasal congestion. You can use an oral or topical decongestant to help with this.
The cough may be treated with a cough suppressant if it continues
I hope this helps
