Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have a small lump in the bottom jaw line toward the front of my chin. It feels like it is under the skin but it does move when I pinch it, I am also having a sore jaw at times (not constant but pain does come and go through the day) a lot of the pain is in the back of the jaw under the ear, occasionally around the lump I have under the skin. I use to dip but this all started months after I quit, i was wondering if this is something I need to rush to the doctor or hospital for.
Hi.. Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC.. As per your complain a lump under the skin that moves on pinching seems to be swollen lymph and jaw pain also seems to be associated to it.. It can be dye to causes like infection in teeth, infection in salivary gland, inflamed gum flap of wisdom tooth etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray or FNAC/Biopsy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. As of now you can do alternate warm and cool compresses over the swelling.. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
