My name is Misty, I have a solid nodule 1x0.5 cm in the upper pole in the right lobe which hasn t changed since May of 2013, Ct scan at that time showed it to be ok but continue monitoring. Now May of 2014I have additional solid nodules in the left lobe that are new. One is 4x4mm and one is 5x3 mm in the lower pole. I haven t been to an endocrinologist yet but was advised by a dr. to go see a surgeon since my blood levels are normal but I m getting more solid nodules. I think I should see an endocrinologist. Please give me your opinion and is it urgent to see someone or can it wait a month or two?
Hi thanks for using healthcaremagic... From the history it is evident that you have multinodular goitre..ie multiple nodules in the thyroid..A module has to be investigated when the size of the nodule becomes more than 1cm..An FNAC has to be done when the size of the nodule is more than 1cm.FNAC is fine needle aspiration cytology. It can you the cytology can features of the nodulebut it is not 100%.You have to do a FNAC before going for further proceedings... thank you...
