What Causes A Small, Marble Sized Lump In Vaginal Area?

I just noticed a small, marble sized lump in my vaginal area. It s in the crease between my leg and my labia majora. It s not painful at all and it doesn t itch or have any symptoms, really. It s not even visible. It s under the skin and you would only know it was there if you felt it. Is it something I should be worried about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Small, marble sized lump in the vaginal area is commonly caused by sebaceous cysts in the vulva. They are asymptomatic. It can get reduced by taking care of the genital hygiene. Take sitz bath two times a day. If infected, it will require simple incision and drainage with conservative treatment for faster healing.

However, you are requested to get clinically examined by a GP to detect Bartholin's cyst or any other pathology. Your treating doctor will recommend STD tests to stay on the safer side. If tests are positive you will be treated with antibiotics / antivirals.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
