Hi, my father had small brown mark on his neck, a biopsy was done, tests said he had 0.5% malanoma, and that all the cancer was removed. Now doctors are taking some skin around the area in 2 weeks. Does this mean the cancer is still there and what are the chances that he won t die from this. I would like an honest answer. I can take it. I m very worried about my dad. Please help.
By looking at the margins they just want to be sure that all of the melanoma was removed or not. The prognosis depends on how early or late the melanoma was removed. The earlier it is removed the better the prognosis.
