What Causes A Scab In The Cervix During Pregnancy?

I m 30 weeks pregnant and decided to check my cervix today. Everything has been normal so far so I don t really have a reason for checking besides out of curiosity. I have felt it before getting pregnant and it never felt this way. It felt like there was a scab or something hard in the end of it. I didn t pick at it or mess around as I know that could cause problems but now I m curious what it should feel like at this point and of the scab is normal.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
I have read your history carefully.
What you have felt might be a mucus plug over the cervix which is a physiological thickened mucus. It is good that you did not try to remove it.
If you don't have any symptoms like discharge or pain then there is nothing to worry about.
Digital self examination is not required and should not be done. It can increase the chance of infection. So please avoid doing that.
Hope this will be helpful.
Thanks for your question.
Take care.
