What Causes A Rash On The Ankle And Swelling In The Feet?

I have a rash from my ankle to about 5 inches up, it started a year ago just a couple of little blotches, it started getting worse about 6 weeks ago to where it looks like a giant burn and now it s raised I have used 4 different creams, prescription ones now I will be going in to my doc soon and she wants to take a biopsy all this is accompanied with both feet swelling from knee to and foot, I don t usually have swollen legs

This could be a prolonged fungal infection.
A biopsy and a microbiological examination is warranted for the same.
