Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I keep having odd recurring symptoms. I ve been having an ezema type rash on my upper lip only, the sides of my mouth crack and get quite red and sore. That will go away and is followed by sore glands under my jaw and an uncomfortable feeling of fullness under the chin.
It looks like you are suffering from Perioral Dermatitis.. It is an eczema type of rash and can be caused due to disturbances in microbial flora over the skin, bacterial infection, nasal and topical steroids, flouridated toothpastes, harsh chemical cosmetics, poor facial hygiene, hormonal imbalances etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Emergency Room and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and advise you to apply topically ointments containing Doxycycline, Metronidazole.. You can also be advised oral intake of erythromycin.. Ointments containing Azaelic acid,Pimecrolimus etc can help.. Avoid any skin cosmetic or steroid ointments.. Avoid excess sun exposure, use gel based sunscreen lotion..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and regards.
